Japan Day 4, WHC’07, Leaving Tsukuba

This post is the fourth in a series of nine illustrating my trip to Japan. On the fourth day in Japan, March 24th, we recouperated from a fun evening the night before and got ready for another round of presentations. We caught up with Bert at breakfast and figured out the plan for the day.

We had lunch at a ramen restaurant in a local mall.

And yes, that is 4 liters of whisky. Wow.

Overall, 269 people attended the conference and I was one of the 43 from the United States (representin’!).

After another full day of presentations, Matt and I left Tsukuba and headed to Tokyo to stay at the Tokyu Inn in Shinbashi.

Not illustrated here is our outing to Roppongi (六本木) later that evening, which included some very interesting (and crazy) nightlife as well as a dinner at a Korean grill where we enjoyed chicken hearts, beans, chicken necks, raw chicken thighs, raw chicken breast, and chicken bones (crunchy!).
